Does anyone have information on the Pier (one citation says "Pierre" Bugnet rose? According to https://communityofgardens.si.edu/items/show/12130 , it was brought to Fairbanks by local nurseryman John Holm (not Holms, as stated in the article) from "Eastern Canada" in the '50s. George Bugnet worked in Alberta (western Canada), so not sure if it's one of his or if that factoid is erroneous. Anyway, the thing is bulletproof to any degree of frigid weather. The site it was preserved from was a huge thicket before being bulldozed, and still survives afterward. This is an interesting rose that's apparently not available in the trade; I've not been able to locate any information regarding its provenance and am curious about it. Mine bloomed for the first time this year.
