I've used small drinks bottles or frozen OJ containers taped together for houseplants. i'm trying them for roses this year.

I also couldn't get over the scope of restrictions.... even sports were covered! I didn't read anywhere that the rose in question used CRISPR technology, but it also didn't specify anything about the 'un-named' seedling.

Henry, as I wrote on the Gardeweb, that is crushing news. Unbelievable really. He was such a kind man who on occasion freely shared his knowledge with me and many others. His roses will be a lasting legacy and I'll cherish Gold Blush all the more, but this was a life take way too soon.

Callus can be induced by modifying the proportions of IBA, GA and kinetin in the culture medium. Roots or shoots can then be induced from the callus by changing the ratios again. My experience is with nicotiana but rosa protocols exist. I'll dredge up what I have and post them at some point, been b...

I'm glad the suggestion worked out. I post on the gardenweb and hope people don't get tired of my suggesting FreedomGardens as a source of rare roses. He also has many from the now defunct ODNR Garden of Roses of Legend and Romance in Wooster. I believe R. Kordesii was one of its holdings.
