Txs for the info on your strategy approach. This imo is definitely a logical and good one to put into the tool box as an option. ... framing the statistics indicates a pretty daunting challenge, scale and therefore why care too much whose pollen so long as know the blend and trait. Re: Splash and Dash equals Bad Technique?

Do l understand your pollen pouches are separate, but each specific blend related by “xyz”n, or by class, but from different roses within? If so, l assume your not fussed about which pollen(s) in a related group succeeded? That approach sounds interesting and successful, but would require a untether...

Re: Splash and Dash equals Bad Technique?

Hi Duane I would of normally chucked the sinkers because of the clear cut behaviour of even the complex parentage Therese Bugnet and same with non - rugosas. Got 95 to 99% density separation efficiency with hard water ... beats many mineral density separation processes ... though this seed ore is ne...

Excellent help and real world truthing... ... as to “splash and dash” l will have to bin it as a norm method and try repetitive on primary target crosses ... or only use, if limited pollen available, and spread on a little on numerous flowers of same seed parent rose (had a lot “to the birds” loses ...

No and no, as this is the first year l tried it as a pollen parent and it was the only one of my new HP/ Portland’s that l was able to find pollen. Re: Splash and Dash equals Bad Technique?

The odd small white spinos hips ( might an Altai due to large flower size ) hips of a cross with Yolande d Aragon (sic) and another with New Dawn had seed. But 1/4 to 1/3 number of selfie white spinos seed. However size appears to be same as selfies.

They drowned (sunk) so they are in theory normal.

Yes Henry l believe, every TB OP seed floated when placed in “plain” water and even after dosing with hand soap or a dropping with near terminal velocity into test water cup.

Good thing l read your reply or would of chucked them. Only HR I will try.

No idea, but do enjoy “rose and Ag history” hunt threads as much as 17th to19th century “sun never sets on” plant hunter histories ... never did find the volunteer rose reported near Thurman Lava tube or recognize the Lokelani “damask” rose.

Erratum “callussed” norm term, my term a geologist’s inorganic prerogative for hard water environment.

Interesting article for me wrt question, apparent callusing resulted in improved take over NRC ?
